I want Bef!

We have the nicest neighbors.  Claire has decided our neighbor, Beth, is her new best friend.  It just may have something to do with the liberal application of Otter Pops.  When she wakes up in the morning, she asks for Beth.  When she's in trouble, she wants Beth.  When she just walks past the window and can see the house next door, she wants Beth.  It's a good thing Beth likes Claire (and the other kids, too!)

Party Time

Bryn was a lot happier with today's birthday experience than the one she had last Saturday.  Apparently twenty-five friends, a multitude of gifts and spending the rest of the day with a few close friends makes up for a lot.  I still just can't believe she's eleven.  What happened to my baby girl?

On the Big Top Carpet Mountain

As play structures go, this one has some serious kid appeal.  Too bad there's no safety commission in the land that would pass it.  Owen and his friend had a grand time trying it out.  Claire stays a little closer to the ground and after happily waving high to our up high friend, told me "Dat's dangerous!"  Here's hoping that's a sign of common sense to be.

It's a Pirate Party

Ahoy there me, hearties! Ella had her birthday lunch with friends today. Somehow paying too much for truly awful food, lame arcade games, and prizes that cost too many tickets turned out to be a lot of fun for everyone ten and under. I'm going to call it novelty and hope they don't beg to go back to Pirate Island anytime soon. They do make cute pirate faces however.

Then we came home and the girls all made and decorated cupcakes. These guys have a serious love of toppings. Once again, I think they're best enjoyed by the ten and under crowd :-)
